KROFTA WATERS INTERNATIONAL, the DAF Company, with operating headquarters in LUGANO Switzerland, has a profound technological background in the application of the Dissolved Air Flotation, DAF, with several thousands of implemented installations worldwide. It is about a chemical/physical process to separate suspended solids from a liquid phase.
Based on that technology, KROFTA offers basically four different types of plants of its own development and construction: MINICELL, SUPERCELL, SEDIFLOAT, and SANDFLOAT. Plants of different mechanical design and processes, chosen for many applications and demands, being it for municipal or industrial effluents, processed water, closed water loops, or also for drinking water purification.
In the fifties of the last century, Dr. MILOS KROFTA developed for the paper industry the up-to-date unique flotation cell in the advantageous construction of the circular tank design, according to the zero velocity principle, initially solely for fiber recovery on papermaking white water. Among papermakers the name KROFTA, today becomes to a synonym for a DAF of highest efficiency and quality.
After over 50 years of presence in the market, new application rises up, requiring an efficient and fast separation with compact units; effluent treatment in paper and cellulose industry, dairies, tanneries, textile, metalworking, slaughter houses and meat processing, plastic and rubber industry, petroleum industry, refineries, hydrocarbons’ exploration, municipal applications for advanced primary treatment, secondary treatment, sludge thickening, but also drinking purification.
In the time being KROFTA is confronted again and again with new applications, whereby qualified and experienced engineers are available. Together with renowned universities, KROFTA is working today on solutions for problems of tomorrow.
